This prompted an increase in women seeking self-managed abortions using online medication sources.

Observation:

A 15-year-old patient presented with severe symptoms following self-managed abortion using online misoprostol.
The patient was in her second trimester and showed signs of incomplete and potentially septic abortion.

Findings:

The patient required emergent evaluation and management.
A dilation and evacuation procedure was necessary due to the incomplete abortion and risk of sepsis.

Implications:

Highlights the potential risks associated with obtaining abortion medications from unregulated online sources.
Underscores the importance of safe access to reproductive healthcare services, even during public health crises.
Suggests a need for increased vigilance and patient education regarding medication abortion safety and sourcing.
