Rare Anatomic Variation: Pneumatized Secondary Middle Turbinate

This study reports a rare case of pneumatized superior turbinates and bilateral secondary middle turbinates (SMT) found via Cone Beam CT. These anatomical variations can obstruct sinus drainage and create unintended surgical pathways.

- This case represents the third documented instance of pneumatized SMTs.
- The patient exhibited bilateral SMTs, with one being pneumatized, alongside pneumatized superior turbinates.
- Detailed anatomical relationships between the SMT, ethmoidal bulla, and ethmoidal infundibulum were observed.

- Such rare anatomical variations can potentially obstruct the normal drainage pathways of the ostiomeatal unit.
