  • Medication recommendations were most frequent (47%), followed by allied health referrals (12%).
  • 77 out of 391 recommendations were adopted.

Conclusions:

  • Structuring clinical placements to enable student contribution enhances student learning and care quality.
  • Student recommendations can lead to tangible improvements in resident care.
  • Further research is needed to identify barriers and enablers for maximizing student contributions in aged care.
