  • Assessment of sarcoma subtype distribution, including Kaposi sarcoma (KS), liposarcoma, and leiomyosarcoma.

    • Overall sarcoma incidence showed an annual decline of -2.1% in men and -1.5% in women.
    • Registration concordance between pathology reports and the INCR was 90%.
    • Kaposi sarcoma (KS) was the most common subtype (21%), followed by liposarcoma (14.4%) and leiomyosarcoma (10.8%). KS incidence was 1.6/100,000 persons.

    Conclusions:

    • This study provides the first detailed description of sarcoma incidence and subtype epidemiology in Israel.
    • Sarcoma incidence has decreased in Israel over the past two decades.
    • High concordance rates suggest reliable sarcoma data registration in Israel.
