Cough variant asthma (CVA) and classic asthma (CA) share similarities, with eosinophilic inflammation potentially indicating more severe disease. However, differences in spirometry and bronchial hyper-responsiveness were not significant between subtypes.

- The observed differences in BHR between eosinophilic and noneosinophilic asthma were not clinically dramatic.
