  • Spinal MRI revealed extensive transverse myelitis (T6-L1) and cauda equina enhancement.

  • Diagnosis was confirmed as spinal schistosomiasis through imaging and serological tests.
  • The patient received praziquantel and high-dose corticosteroids.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the importance of considering spinal schistosomiasis in patients with unexplained myelopathy, especially in endemic areas.
  • Despite treatment, neurological recovery was minimal, underscoring the challenges in managing this condition.
