A novel polyvinylidene fluoride/polyvinylidene fluoride-silica (PVDF/PVDF-SiO2) membrane contactor was developed using a hydrophobic modification. This enhanced membrane exhibits superhydrophobicity and improved SO2 absorption flux, reducing wetting phenomena.
