BMI changes in pediatric type 1 narcolepsy under sodium oxybate treatment

Sodium oxybate (SO) treatment in children with narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) significantly reduced body mass index (BMI) z-scores within the first year. This weight management benefit was observed in patients receiving SO alone or combined therapies.

- Sodium oxybate (SO) treatment is associated with favorable weight reduction in pediatric patients with narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) during the first year of therapy.
- The weight management effects of SO appear most pronounced in the initial year of treatment, with sustained benefits observed in combined therapy groups.
