Cardiac Acclimatization at High Altitude in Two Different Ethnicity Groups

High altitude exposure increases pulmonary artery pressure and cardiac output in both Indian and Kyrgyz individuals. However, left ventricular diastolic function changes were observed only in Kyrgyz subjects, suggesting ethnic variations in cardiac acclimatization.

- Ethnic variations may influence cardiac functional parameters, particularly left ventricular diastolic function, during HA acclimatization.
- Further research is needed to elucidate the mechanisms behind these ethnic differences in cardiac adaptation to high altitude.
