The p24 complex in yeast cis-Golgi promotes COPI vesicle budding by enhancing guanine nucleotide exchange factor Gea1 (GEF) binding to COPI. This facilitates Arf1 (ADP-ribosylation factor 1) activation for selective coat assembly.
