Background:

The COVID-19 pandemic imposed significant restrictions on social interactions and physical distancing.
These restrictions profoundly impacted traditional surgical education methods.
Surgeons explored innovative solutions to maintain educational continuity.

Purpose of the Study:

To present a basic template for conducting cost-effective online surgical conferences.
To share experiences from a successful midterm conference of the Karnataka State Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India.

Main Methods:

Developing a template for online conference organization.
Leveraging experience from a previously held successful virtual event.
Focusing on cost-effectiveness and accessibility.

Main Results:

A successful and well-received online midterm conference was conducted.
The developed template provides a framework for future virtual surgical education events.
The approach proved effective in overcoming pandemic-related limitations.

Conclusions:

Online conferences are a viable and effective innovation for surgical education during pandemics.
The presented template offers a practical and cost-effective model for organizing virtual surgical meetings.
This strategy ensures the continuation of surgical training and knowledge dissemination despite social distancing measures.
