Reticuloendothelial activation correlates with disease severity and predicts mortality in severe alcoholic hepatitis

Severe alcoholic hepatitis involves overactivated reticuloendothelial cells. Von Willebrand factor (VWF) is a key marker predicting mortality in these patients.
