Surgical Management of Sigmoid Volvulus: A Multicenter Observational Study

Emergency surgery for sigmoid volvulus leads to more complications and open procedures compared to elective surgery. Elective laparoscopic surgery, following sigmoidoscopic decompression, appears to be the best clinical choice for managing sigmoid volvulus.
