Uterine Tubes

The uterine or fallopian tubes function as the conduit through which oocytes travel from the ovaries to the uterus. Each fallopian tube measures approximately 10 to 13 cm long and is anatomically divided into the infundibulum, ampulla, isthmus, and interstitial part (or intramural segment). Background:

Ewing sarcoma is a rare neuroectodermal tumor primarily affecting bone and soft tissue.
Primary uterine involvement by Ewing sarcoma is exceptionally uncommon.

Observation:

A case study of a 46-year-old patient with primary uterine Ewing sarcoma.
Treatment involved total abdominal hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, and adjuvant chemotherapy.

Findings:

The patient achieved complete remission for one year following a treatment regimen of vincristine, doxorubicin, and cyclophosphamide.
Complete surgical resection is the primary treatment modality for Ewing family of tumors (EFT), irrespective of tumor origin.

Implications:

Accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment are crucial for managing rare gynecologic malignancies.
Adjuvant therapy (chemotherapy or radiotherapy) is essential when indicated for complete tumor eradication.
