Sleep apnea is a condition where breathing stops intermittently during sleep, often leading to significant health issues. Each episode can last from 10 to 20 seconds or more and is frequently accompanied by a brief arousal from sleep. Background:

  • Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common sleep disorder.
  • Accurate screening is crucial for timely diagnosis and treatment.
  • Current screening methods often require in-laboratory polysomnography (PSG).

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the diagnostic utility of a novel contact-free device, OrbSense, for screening obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

  • Simultaneous overnight monitoring of 359 participants using OrbSense and in-laboratory polysomnography (PSG).
