High-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate continuous exercise both improved cognitive performance in people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). However, HIIT showed greater benefits for verbal learning in those with impaired cognition.

- Further large-scale, randomized controlled trials are warranted, using cognitive performance as the primary endpoint and stratifying participants by baseline cognitive status.
