Summary
Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) reveals vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) increases disrupt the external limiting membrane (ELM) and ellipsoid zone (EZ) in diabetic macular edema. Anti-VEGF therapy restores ELM integrity before EZ restoration.
