Poly(dA:dT) effectively inhibits herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) in human cervical cells by activating antiviral immunity. This synthetic DNA analog triggers interferon production and stimulates multiple antiviral genes, offering a potential strategy against HSV-2 transmission.
