Summary

This study reveals that CD56+ T cells expressing NKG2C in healthy humans are highly differentiated CD8+ TEMRA cells, linked to expanded T cell clones and reduced IFN-γ production. Their frequency correlates with NKG2C+ NK cells in HCMV-positive individuals.
