The relationship between ambivalence, alexithymia, and salience network dysfunction in schizophrenia

Schizophrenia patients show altered brain activity in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) and insula during tasks involving ambivalence. This dysfunction may link to difficulties with emotional processing and alexithymia.
