Augmentation index predicts mortality in patients with aortic stenosis: an echo-tracking study

Arterial stiffness, measured by carotid augmentation index (AIx), independently predicts mortality in patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) and preserved ejection fraction. This finding highlights arterial stiffness as a marker of atherosclerotic burden and poor prognosis.
