Silicon: A neglected micronutrient essential for bone health.

Silicon may improve bone health in humans. Studies suggest a daily intake of around 25 mg silicon may be beneficial, and supplements with orthosilicic acid, calcium, and vitamin D show promise for bone mineral density.
