T cell immunoglobulin and ITIM domain (TIGIT) expression on CD8+ T cells correlates with activity in healthy and HIV-aviremic individuals. These TIGIT+CD8+ T cells retain cytotoxic function, suggesting they are not necessarily exhausted in HIV infection.
