Intestinal hemangiomas are rare benign tumors that can mimic chronic bowel diseases. Early diagnosis is crucial, especially in patients with anemia, to ensure proper treatment and recovery.

Background:

Hemangiomas are benign vascular neoplasms from embryonic mesodermal tissue, presenting diverse clinical features.
Intestinal hemangiomas are rare and can mimic chronic bowel diseases, necessitating consideration in differential diagnoses for abdominal pain and anemia.

Observation:

A 46-year-old woman presented with chronic abdominal pain and distension, along with microcytic hypochromic anemia.
Imaging revealed small intestinal thickening, dilation, and lymphadenopathy, initially suggesting infectious or neoplastic conditions.
Exploratory laparotomy identified a lesion consistent with cavernous hemangioma of the small intestine.

Findings:

Anatomopathological study confirmed a cavernous hemangioma measuring 2.6x1.0 cm in the small intestine.
