Summary

Cochlear implants (CI) improve hearing, but outcomes vary. This study found that higher electrode impedances and incorrect T-levels negatively impact speech understanding in CI users. Optimizing C/M-levels with ECAP thresholds is key for better results.

  • To correlate objective measurements with subjective speech understanding scores.

  • Analyzed data from 52 patients (65 ears) aged 18-80 years.
  • Utilized intraoperative ECAP thresholds and electrode impedance as objective parameters.
