Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) are rare, aggressive sarcomas. This case highlights an exceptionally large and rapidly growing MPNST in a neurofibromatosis type I patient.

Background:
- Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs), or neurofibrosarcomas, are rare, aggressive soft tissue sarcomas.
- They originate from peripheral nerve cells and account for 10% of all soft tissue sarcomas, being particularly rare in neurofibromatosis type I patients.
- MPNSTs affect approximately 1 in 100,000 people in the general population.
