This case report details a previously healthy man who experienced sudden cardiac arrest due to a Brugada pattern. Asymptomatic hyperthyroidism was identified as the likely trigger for this cardiac event.
Area of Science:
- Cardiology
- Endocrinology
- Internal Medicine
Background:
- Brugada pattern on electrocardiogram (ECG) is associated with an increased risk of sudden cardiac death.
- Hyperthyroidism, particularly when asymptomatic, can present with various cardiovascular manifestations.
- The interplay between endocrine disorders and cardiac electrical activity requires further investigation.
