A 2020 survey in Argentina found that while many people accept gender-neutral language, they are not always willing to use it. Acceptance is higher for vocative uses, suggesting strategic application over widespread linguistic change.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate attitudes toward gender-neutral language in Argentina.
To analyze the relationship between acceptance and actual usage.
To identify contexts where gender-neutral language is more readily adopted.

Online survey conducted in January 2020.
Data collected from 4,205 participants primarily via social networks.
Analysis of survey responses to gauge attitudes and reported usage patterns.

A significant portion of participants expressed favorable attitudes toward gender-neutral language.
A notable divergence exists between acceptance and willingness to actively use gender-neutral language.
