To describe the development of a three-part online clinical learning environment.
To evaluate student perspectives on the online learning experience.
To provide recommendations for future online veterinary medical education.

Main Methods:

Utilized backward design principles to structure the online curriculum.
Implemented a three-part model: synchronous rounds, simulated appointments, and independent learning.
Collected student feedback through surveys to assess the learning experience.

Main Results:

The majority of students reported that the online clinical experience met or exceeded their expectations.
Students found the online learning environment to be a meaningful educational experience.
The developed online model effectively delivered small animal primary care education.
