Purpose of the Study:

  • Longitudinal data from two generations of the Long Life Family Study (LLFS) were analyzed.
  • Cognitive change was assessed using 6 neuropsychological tests over approximately 8 years.
  • A Bayesian hierarchical model was employed, controlling for demographic and study-specific factors.

  • These findings suggest that long-lived families represent a valuable cohort for understanding cognitive resilience and aging processes.
  • Familial longevity is associated with extended cognitive health spans.
