Effectiveness of a Standardized External Ventricular Drain Placement Protocol for Infection Control

A standardized protocol for external ventricular drain (EVD) placement is effective in reducing infection rates. Replacing EVDs through the same site increases infection risk, but drain duration does not impact infections.
