Summary

A minimum of 4 cm cortical contact length is required for reliable initial stability of titanium tapered stems (TTS) in revision hip arthroplasty. Shorter lengths, like 2 cm, are insufficient, while 3 cm offers successful fixation in most cases, irrespective of stem taper angle.
