Correlations between IL-6 serum level and olfactory dysfunction severity in COVID-19 patients: a preliminary study

Olfactory scores in COVID-19 patients did not correlate with Interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels. This finding questions the prognostic value of smell dysfunction in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients.

- Olfactory psychophysical scores in COVID-19 patients do not significantly correlate with IL-6 plasma levels.
- The study suggests that olfactory dysfunction may not be a reliable indicator of disease prognosis based on IL-6 levels.
