Liver Resection Promotes (Regulates) Proinflammatory Cytokines in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) cytokines are crucial for liver regeneration after liver resection (LR). Their expressions and serum levels significantly increase following surgery in hepatocellular carcinoma patients.

Conclusions:
- IL-6 and TNF-α are critical cytokines that promote liver regeneration after LR.
- The study provides evidence supporting the role of these cytokines in human liver regeneration.
