Anemia as a Risk Factor for Organ Dysfunctions in Patients Operated on Heart Valves

Postoperative anemia in acquired heart disease patients significantly elevates risks of heart failure, multiorgan failure, and need for blood transfusions. Severe anemia (Hb <90 g/l) further heightens the danger of brain dysfunction and multiorgan failure.
