This case study details a multi-ligament knee injury with patellar tendon rupture. Surgical reconstruction eight months post-injury led to successful patient daily life integration.

Background:
- Multi-ligament knee injuries involve damage to two or more major knee ligaments, occurring in less than 0.02% of orthopedic lesions.
- Complete patellar tendon rupture is rare, with a prevalence of 2.4%, and even less frequently associated with multi-ligament knee injuries.
Observation:
- A 22-year-old male sustained a high-speed accident resulting in a Stage V Schenck multi-ligament left knee injury and complete patellar tendon rupture.
- The patient underwent single-stage surgical treatment, including ligament reconstruction, four weeks after the traumatic event.
Findings:
- Eight months post-surgery, the patient achieved a subjective functional evaluation score of 88.5 using the IKDC 2000 form.
- The patient demonstrated successful reintegration into daily activities within eight months of treatment.
Implications:
- Single-stage surgical reconstruction for complex knee injuries, including patellar tendon rupture, may be a viable management option.
- Further research with larger patient cohorts is necessary to validate the long-term efficacy and outcomes of this surgical approach.
