Background:

Poisonings represent a considerable public health challenge, particularly among the elderly population.
Understanding the epidemiology of poisonings in this demographic is crucial for effective intervention.

Purpose of the Study:

To analyze the epidemiology of poisonings in individuals aged 65 and older.
To identify common agents, circumstances, and outcomes of poisoning in the elderly.

Retrospective cohort study from 2011-2019 at a university hospital.
Analysis of demographic data, poison types, intent (suicidal/accidental), and hospitalization/mortality probabilities.
