Graduate medical trainees face minimum case requirements.
Obstetric anesthesiology fellows struggle with participation in nonobstetric antenatal procedures due to scheduling and location challenges.

Purpose of the Study:

To increase fellow participation in nonobstetric antenatal surgeries.
To implement an informatics-based notification system to address participation challenges.

Main Methods:

An automated email notification system was developed to identify pregnant patients undergoing nonobstetric surgeries.
Fellows received daily automated emails with case details.
Trainee participation rates were compared pre- and post-implementation using statistical tests.

Fellow participation in nonobstetric antenatal cases increased significantly, from a median of 0 to 3 cases per quarter (p=0.007).
