Abstract:
As a contribution to the diagnosis of central auditory disorders in children we developed a series of tests providing a basis for the analysis of auditory perception dysfunctions, offering a detailed description of their symptomatology and thus furnishing a basis for carefully directed measures of treatment. Evaluation criteria necessary for the analysis of tests featuring artificially altered language (band-pass-filtered speech, time-compressed speech, tests with background noise or dichotic speech) are described together with findings obtained from previous investigations. The test series further includes objective audiometric methods and additional tests for the evaluation of auditory perception performance (e.g. phoneme discrimination).
