Abstract:
Methylphenidate is often the drug of choice for pharmacologic treatment of attention deficit disorder. Cases of parental abuse of the drug have been reported. The likelihood of antisocial personality disorder appears to be greater in families of children with attention deficit disorder, which emphasizes the need for strategies to reduce the abuse of prescription methylphenidate.
