Summary

Psoriasis patients undergoing PUVA therapy may experience bronchoconstriction due to 8-methoxypsoralen. However, prophylactic anti-asthmatic treatment can allow continued photochemotherapy safely, with most patients showing no lung function impairment.

  • In a subsequent study of 21 patients, no significant pulmonary function impairment was observed as a result of PUVA therapy.
