Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the feasibility and safety of performing stereotactic brain biopsies in an outpatient setting.
  • To evaluate patient outcomes and identify criteria for successful ambulatory management.

Main Methods:

  • Prospective study of consecutive outpatient stereotactic brain biopsies from June 2018 to September 2020.
  • Inclusion of 40 patients meeting specific health criteria (ASA score 1-2, mRs ≤ 2).
  • Data collection on patient demographics, distance, complications, and diagnostic yield.

  • 100% same-day discharge rate with no readmissions within one month.
