Summary

Low-dose methotrexate effectively treats severe rheumatoid arthritis in patients unresponsive to other therapies. This pilot study shows significant symptom and inflammation reduction with manageable side effects.

  • Open-label, 6-month study with a 12-month follow-up.
  • Oral methotrexate administered at 2.5-5 mg three times weekly.
  • Assessed joint pain, stiffness, swelling, patient well-being, and laboratory markers.
