N-terminal atrial natriuretic peptide (NT-proANP) levels are elevated in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) compared to controls. These higher NT-proANP levels, found in both cardiac and peripheral circulation, are associated with AF progression and predict low voltage areas.

- Elevated NT-proANP levels (cardiac and peripheral) showed a modest, similar ability to predict LVAs in AF patients.
Conclusions:
- NT-proANP levels are significantly elevated in individuals with AF, with higher concentrations observed in more advanced stages of the condition.
- Both cardiac and peripheral NT-proANP levels serve as comparable predictors of low voltage areas in AF patients.
