Background:

Economic evaluations are increasingly used to assess benefits of evidence-based practices (EBPs) in healthcare.
Traditional economic evaluations often lack sufficient detail for policy and financing decisions regarding EBP implementation.
This paper addresses the gap by exploring how economic evaluations can inform EBP financing strategies.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe how economic evaluations can be translated into policy and practice through research on financing strategies.
To provide an overview of EBP implementation financing, identifying key stakeholders and decision points.
To illustrate the application of economic evaluations in informing EBP financing decisions through case examples.

Main Methods:

Overview of EBP implementation financing stakeholders and decision-making points.
Case study analysis of three examples: Pay-for-Success financing for multisystemic therapy, alternative payment models for oncology care, and fiscal mapping for a family support intervention.
