  • To investigate the association between age, BMI, depressive symptoms, physical activity, and sleep disturbance with fatigue during prostate cancer radiotherapy.

  • Twenty-six participants completed validated questionnaires assessing fatigue, sleep disturbance, and physical activity.
  • Depressive symptoms were rated using the Hamilton Depression Scale.
  • Bivariate correlation and multiple linear regression analyzed variable relationships with fatigue.

Main Results:

  • Sleep disturbance and depressive symptoms showed strong correlations with each other and with fatigue at all study time points.
  • A combined assessment of sleep disturbance and depressive symptoms significantly predicted fatigue levels.

Conclusions:

  • Sleep disturbance and depressive symptoms are key factors associated with fatigue in this population.
  • Clinicians should prioritize assessing and managing both sleep disturbance and depressive symptoms concurrently to alleviate cancer-related fatigue.
