Health professionals can now create and deploy their own mobile health (mHealth) interventions using the Experience Sampling and Programmed Intervention Method (ESPIM) system. This method and its accompanying software empower specialists to design, build, and manage interventions without altering their original plans.
Area of Science:
- Digital Health
- Health Informatics
- Human-Computer Interaction
Background:
- Mobile health (mHealth) interventions often require adapting existing apps or using specialized ones.
- Current systems lack the design transparency needed for replication, specialization, or extension of mHealth interventions.
- A method and model are needed to guide specialists in planning and deploying mHealth interventions, and to advise developers on creating new systems.
