Diastolic dysfunction in individuals with and without heart failure with preserved ejection fraction

Diastolic dysfunction (DD) affects 12.7% of the general population, with 1.3% having DD with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Risk factors differ between DD with and without HFpEF, suggesting distinct underlying mechanisms.
