Genetically Determined TSH Level Within Reference Range Is Inversely Associated With Alzheimer Disease

Genetically determined thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels within the normal range may reduce Alzheimer's disease (AD) risk. Atrial fibrillation and blood pressure might mediate this effect, while free thyroxine (FT4) showed no causal link to AD.

- A positive causal effect of AD on TSH levels was detected specifically in males, suggesting a potential male-specific feedback loop.
