Insights
This case report details a rare instance of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and left internal mammary artery occlusion following left subclavian artery instrumentation during complex aortic aneurysm repair.
Area of Science:
- Cardiology
- Vascular Surgery
- Interventional Cardiology
Background:
- Cardiogenic shock is a life-threatening complication of acute myocardial infarction.
- Left internal mammary artery (LIMA) occlusion is a rare but serious complication.
- Complex aortic aneurysms require intricate surgical and interventional approaches.
Abstract:
Cardiogenic shock is a severe, often fatal presentation of acute myocardial infarction. This report presents an unusual case of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction with left internal mammary artery occlusion occurring after instrumentation of the left subclavian artery as part of planned repair of a complex aortic aneurysm.
